Kirkwood United Church of Christ is seeking a part-time Director of Music Ministry to lead our congregation and choir in worship. The Director of Music Ministry position typically requires between 6 and 10 hours per week, depending on the season, as the choir is off in the summer. Duties include worship planning with the pastor, a one-hour choir rehearsal on Thursday night, and church service on Sunday morning. Salary range for this position is based on experience and will also depend on the need for a separate accompanist. St. Paul’s Evangelical Free Church in Creve Coeur is seeking an organist/pianist to play for services and accompany the St. Paul’s Chorale and other musicians for solo and ensemble performances through the year. St. Paul’s has a Quimby pipe organ that is primarily used to accompany congregational singing and to provide liturgical elements such as prelude, postlude, offertory, communion. The church has one service at 9:30 Sunday and services on Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Good Friday. Some of the service music and hymns may also be played on the piano, depending on the style and nature of the service. The Chorale season runs from Labor Day through Pentecost Sunday. Rehearsals are Thursday night at 7:00. The Chorale sings throughout the church year, but not every week. The Chorale presents a Christmas cantata each year and provides substantial music for Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Good Friday. The Music Director & Organist will own responsibility for all aspects of musical life in the Cathedral.
