Minutes from both the February 13th and August 11th meeting were approved.
February 13th minutes were approved with a motion from Mike and a second by John.
August 11th minutes were approved with a motion from John and a second by Mike.
Treasurer’s Report: The checking/savings balance is 19,179.10 and the Special account balance is $4,470 with a total of $23,649.10. Payment of $150. was made leaving Total Assets at $23,499.10.
Membership dues received totaled $3573.00 with additional funds from Chapter Outreach and King of Instruments Sponsorship totaling $4,028.50 gross profit. After expenses of 897.45, the Net Income is $3,131.05.
The January Jubilee will have a special account set-up to keep Jubilee income/expenses clearly identified.
The bills went out for the ads. Mike will check on whether the Bach Society and Ladue Chapel will sponsor a King of Instruments segment.
A motion was made by Bill Aitken and seconded by John to approve the Treasurer’s report. All approved.
Dean’s Report: Celebrating years of membership and service. Fern Black has been an AGO member for 70 years. She joined in 1948. We gave a proclamation to Henry Glass for 60 years. Bob Mulgardt just retired after 53 years of service. How will we know of those accomplishments?; and how will we recognize them?
Thanks to Nancy and Rene for the Opus tribute for Priscilla McDonnel. Thank you to Bill Aitken for hosting this meeting.

Sub-Dean Report: Six people will be playing for 10 minutes each at September 25 members recital. It will be taped for King of Instruments airing. The October meeting will be in collaboration with NPM. Ideas for future programs: Pipe Organ Encounter for June 2019. Horst offered to chair. Check on the date for Regional in Milwaukee to make sure same dates are not used. Idea tabled for next meeting to make a formal motion.We must submit by January or February of 2018 if interested. A suggestion was made that we could bring in former POE participants such as David Ball and Ben Blasingame. Reminder: the cost of dinner before program events is now $15.00. The King of Instruments airs on Sundays at 6:00 pm on Radio Arts Foundation 107.3 FM, 96.3HD2, or RAFSTL.ORG.
-October 23rd meeting will be presented in collaboration with NPM. Be sure to check your travel path as Hwy 64 to Illinois will be closed for road construction.
November: Event at the Scottish Rite Cathedral to raise funds for the January Jubilee (more info in the next issue of OPUS and online)
Registrar: Brent will complete this year as Registrar, therefore a replacement is needed.
OPUS Newsletter: The Opus Deadline is September 15th.
Social Media: The social media communication is being used to share with the community events. Rene requested that the Board budget $50. Permanently to place an ad per Chapter’s event on Facebook which reaches 30,000 plus people. Note program attendance has increased and we can broaden the number reached even more. In the past, Rene had to request the amount each year. Stephen Jones motioned that the Board allocate $50. Per event into the yearly budget for pay for Facebook Ad for chapter events. John seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Bob Chamberlain is in charge of “Make Music Day”, June 21, 2018. It occurs yearly. Bob will work with Rene next year to involve our organ events with it.
January Jubilee Report: Dawn reported that the January Jubilee has its own Facebook page. It is set for January 26-27, 2018. Organist Mark Pacoe is the featured performer, (www.markpacoe.com), and he will be doing 2 of the 20 planned workshops. Check the St. Louis January Jubilee Facebook page: (www.facebook.com/JanuaryJubilee or www.agostlouis.org/jubilee2018) for more details. New members attending will receive six months free membership. The workshops are all covered. Regina Morris is in charge of Hospitality. “Save the date” contacts of some type will be sent to Church Ladies, Archdiocese, Eden Seminary, Kenrick Seminary, Colleges (possibly through our own members such as Nancy Ypma, Bob Redman. Send ideas to Dawn.
Fundraiser at Scottish Rite in November – John Hawn reported that it would start at 6pm. We can use the garage but will have to pay for parking. Mike will take money. Plans to be finalized: cost of ticket, will it include cost of parking, reservation list for reception, printing tickets, bracelets, whether there will be an auction, 50/50 raffle, can we sell tickets for parking. John will call Brent to find out about parking do’s and don’ts for that night.
