Dean’s Report: Mark thanked all for attending tonight’s meeting. The minutes and treasurer’s report from the last meeting, February 19, will be presented at the next meeting. Mark assured the Executive Committee that the chapter is in very good financial status. There was a meeting scheduled on March 20th at Kirkwood United Church of Christ but the meeting was not held as there was not quorum present.
Mark’s flight was delayed which prevented him from making it to the meeting.  Burnell was prepared to lead the meeting should a quorum be present. Mark received a Thank You from National for our Chapter’s $100.00 contribution to the Annual Fund. Mark signed a certificate of compliance with National stating that our chapter is compliant with all the regulations set forth to National by the FCC. Mark would like this year’s Yearbook to be published by mid-September.  Brent said he would double-check on a couple of the memberships to get the information to Al Black. Reminder: The program suppers will go up from $10.00 to $15.00 to alleviate the deficit of funds collected for meals.
Sub-Dean Report: Mark reported for Burnell that the program for 2017-2018 is set-up and ready to begin. NPM is now co-sponsoring the October 23rd venue; so, our program cost will be reduced to $300.00
Registrar: Brent officially wishes to be replaced as Registrar by the end of the year. He reported that the OnCard system keeps track of most of the membership information at this point and there is virtually little work that needs to be done other than reporting at meetings. Since May 8th, we have 6 new members enrolled and 1 dual member showing a gain in membership.
OPUS Newsletter:  The Opus Deadline is Tuesday, August 15th.
Social Media: Social Media Communications is doing well. The website seems to be used primarily by people looking for jobs and events. Rene recommended the Board use our social media links more to advertise our events, i.e. the fundraiser and the January Jubilee. Rene has also started a second site called Organ Console, to communicate with the rest of the organ world.
January Jubilee: Dawn reported that the Jubilee organization is moving along very well. It will be a 2-day event, January 26-27, with 20 workshops. The committee requested $2000 from National but only received $1000. Dawn requested $3000 from the Executive Board to help finance the Jubilee. The committee is writing a couple of grants. Mary motioned that we help finance the January Jubilee in the amount of $3000. Bill seconded and the motion passed.  Any new member who signs up to attend the Jubilee will receive six months free National membership.
Fall Fundraiser: John reported that the Scottish Rite building is secured for the November 10th fundraiser. Mark Gifford will accompany the silent film, “The General” (Buster Keaton). There will be a $400 stipend for Mark. A reception and possible silent auction will be held before the film. Brent has contacts at the Grand Center to help advertise for the event. A suggestion was made to reach out to the Theater Organ Society.
P.O.E. – Our chapter was asked if we would do a P.O.E in 2019.  The Board believes it is a good idea if a chairman is found to organize it. We last sponsored one in 2010 with Andy Peters as the Committee Chairperson.
Quimby Competition: We, previously, were asked to sponsor a Quimby Competition; but due to the Regional convention, we were not able to do it at the time, but told them we would do it in the future. It would be in 2019 and the deadline is approaching.  The decision is based on finding someone willing to chair the event.
Board Elections for 2018 – This election is for Dean, Sub-Dean, and the class of 2021 – a total of 5 people. The nominating committee should begin in November, present the slate in January, hold the election in February and present the elected slate to the Executive Board by March meeting. The nominating committee should consist of only 1 member from the current board and 2 members at large.
Upcoming Conventions: Lisa mentioned The Hymn Society of America will hold its convention locally the 3rd week of July, 2018, and The Handbell Musicians convention will be local in 2019.

March 10, 2018 –   All day Organ Crawl to Springfield and Jacksonville, Illinois
March, 2018    –     2018 Elected Board Slate presented to the Executive Committee
May, 2018       –     Avis Blewett Award Ceremony and Installation of Officers
May 20, 2018  –     Recital by Clay Christiansen, Organist at the Mormon Tabernacle Choir;
                              Manchester United Methodist Church; 3:00p.m.
May 21, 2018 –      Annual Dinner/Awards/Installation Meeting; Webster Groves Christian
                               Church; Lisa Cripe, host.

June 30, 2018  –   Revision of Operating Procedures to align with National’s guidelines. (Every  other year process.  Last done in 2016).
