How Brightly Shines:  Arts and Faith Weekend  February 9-11, 2024.  Ladue Chapel Presbyterian Church, 9450 Clayton Road, Ladue, MO. 

               Guest presenters:  Eric Wall, Gene Alice Sherman Associate Professor of Sacred Music and Dean of the Chapel, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary (Austin, TX);

               Aaron Frei, President of Emil Frei and Associates, (internationally known stained glass artisans);

               Sharon Aach, reverse glass painter

               Friday 7:00-8:00 p.m.

               Conversation with artists/wine and cheese reception

               Saturday 9:00 a.m. – noon

               Workshop with Eric Wall: “Soundtracks: Film Music, Liturgy, Community”

Music in worship and in the life of faith is a powerful narrative and descriptive art. In this workshop, we explore some parallels between music in worship and music in film, looking at how music’s expressive possibilities contribute to storytelling, atmosphere, and illumination.

               Creating painted glass art

               10:30 a.m.  How Brightly Shines Transfiguration Hymn Festival designed and led by Eric Wall.  With Ladue Chapel adult and children’s choirs; brass quartet.
