Organ Recital: Dennis Bergin

St. Louis concert organist Dennis Bergin will perform an organ concert “MUSIC of RESURRECTION” at Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church, 1230 Big Bend Road, Ballwin, Missouri 63021, on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 7:00 p.m.
The church’s splendid 51-rank Quimby pipe organ will be heard in music by Gerald Near “Carillon on a Ukrainian Bell Carol”; J. S. Bach Sinfonia to Cantata 29 arr. Marcel Dupre and Prelude and Fugue in E Flat Major BWV 552;
Dennis Bergin “Three Hymns to the Risen King”; Marcel Dupre Toccata on “Lumen ad revelationem” Op. 48 and Preludio (Deuxieme Symphonie Op. 26); and Henri Mulet Toccata: Tu es Petra (Thou art the Rock).
Dennis Bergin is the Organist of Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church and a nationally acclaimed concert organist, having won First Prize in the 1989 International Organ Performance Competition sponsored by the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was also one of five finalists in the International Grand Prix de Chartres Concours d’Orgue in Paris and Chartres, France in 1984. He has performed as an organ soloist throughout the United States. He was the Principal Organist for the American Kantorei BACH at the SEM Concert Series at Concordia Lutheran Seminary St. Louis for sixteen years, where he presented most of the major organ works of J. S. Bach in annual public concerts.
