Organ Recital: Dennis Bergin

St. Louis concert organist Dennis Bergin will present an organ recital, “MUSIC of HEAVEN,” at Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church, 1230 Big Bend Road, St. Louis, Missouri, on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
The church’s splendid 49-rank Quimby pipe organ will be heard in music by Olivier Messiaen “Transports de Joie” (L’Ascension); J. S. Bach Fugue in G Minor, BWV 578, Fugue a la Gigue in G Major, BWV 577, and “Wie schon leuchtet der Morgenstern,” BWV 739; Johannes Brahms Fugue in A-flat Minor; Michael Burkhardt Toccata on “Wie schon leuchtet der Morgenstern”; Cesar Franck Cantabile and Piece Heroique; Dennis Bergin T. S. Eliot Impressions (2000) III. Animula and IV. Marina; and Henri Mulet Carillon-Sortie.
Dennis Bergin is the Organist of Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church and a nationally acclaimed concert organist, having been awarded First Prize in the 1989 International Organ Performance Competition sponsored by the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was also named First Prize winner in the National Organ Playing Competition sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1978. He was one of five finalists in the International Grand Prix de Chartres Concours d’Orgue in Paris and Chartres, France, in 1984. He was the Principal Organist for the American Kantorei BACH at the SEM Concert Series at Concordia Lutheran Seminary in St. Louis for sixteen years, where he performed most of the major organ works of J. S. Bach in annual public concerts.
