Perseid String Quartet

Formed in 2013, the Perseid String Quartet is dedicated to performing chamber music to the highest possible artistic standards and to creating enjoyable concert experiences in the St. Louis area. The Perseids have appeared at multiple venues including the Sheldon Concert Hall, the 560 Music Center, Washington University, and the Kemper Art Museum. The ensemble is comprised of violinists Hannah Frey and Manuela Kaymakanova, violist Eliana Haig, and cellist Stephanie Hunt.

Silent Movie

Harold Lloyd stars in this comedy film from 1925 in the story of a college freshman trying to become popular by joining the school football team. This film is considered by many to be one of Lloyd’s most successful films and in 1990 the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress. Andrew Peters provides live organ accompaniment to this 76 minute film.

The Second Church Chorale and Orchestra present Antonio Vivaldi’s Magnificat with conductor Andrew Peters on the first Sunday of Advent. In addition, the chorale and handbell choir will present hymns of the season giving listeners a temporary respite from the busy month of December.

Thomas and Tricia Jöstlein offer a program for horn and alphorn with tenor Derek Dahlke and keyboardist Andrew Peters. The program includes Haydn’s Concerto for Two Horns and Schubert’s Auf dem Strom (On the Stream). The versatile 2018-19 Bach Society of St. Louis Young Artists will be joined by pianist Sandra Geary in this delightful afternoon program.
