Messiah Lutheran Church in St. Louis, Missouri is seeking a part-time Director of Music Ministries and a part-time Organist.  These positions may be filled by a single individual who can serve both roles, or by two individuals.  

Messiah is a multi-cultural, multi-generational congregation that values reverent and vibrant worship.  Currently, the music ministry includes a handbell choir, adult choir, brass ensemble, individual solos, and small ensembles. Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Chesterfield MO is seeking a Music DIrector.   Duties are:

1. Plan and coordinate the parish-wide (including Preschool) music program, providing leadership and resources for the other musicians in the congregation, 2. Create, edit and produce all services (liturgical and blended) or any program requiring music. In coordination and with the approval of Pastor, using such tools as Service Builder, Creative Worship, CCLI and other resources that would prove beneficial, 3. Select all hymns, liturgical music, and contemporary songs for services for review and approval by the Pastor. Meet with the Pastoral staff on a quarterly basis to plan worship, 4. Schedule all choirs, ensembles, and soloists participating in worship, 5. Determine and submit the annual budget requirements for the music program and administer the expenditures of the approved budget, 6. Maintain the music library and supervise the maintenance of all instruments, 7. Maintain professional competency by practicing, performing, attending continued education opportunities, teaching workshops or seminars, and reading professional journals, 8. Develop and direct a children’s music ministry. Including but not limited to Sunday School and Pre-School participants, 9. Develop and work with VBS program, 10. Oversee sound system and projection screen if used for all services, 11. Recruit and develop members to be part of the music ministry, 12. Develop a community music program. This may include music lessons and community choir.

Be the primary musician for all services and special service such as weddings and funerals. Schedule substitute organists/pianists when needed (Four Sunday’s per year),  assist with recruiting and facilitating participation from all interested musicians within the congregation and community. Develop a student instrumental ensemble and prepare them to play in worship.  Direct and teach hand bells choirs. (Adults and youth). Select appropriate music for the hand bell musicians. Festival rehearsals for the hand bells/musicians as needed. Direct and teach the sanctuary choir. (Adult and youth). Select appropriate music for the choirs. Bachelor's degree in music, church music, or other related degree.

Demonstrated knowledge of Lutheran theology, liturgical practice, and use of music in worship.  Demonstrated skill and competency at the keyboard, particularly organ and piano, and a working knowledge of other instruments.

Webster Groves Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1320 W. Lockwood Ave, St. Louis, MO 63122  is seeking a part-time, year-round organist for one blended worship service at 10:30am each Sunday, and special seasonal worship services.    www.webstergroveschristian.org

Trinity Lutheran Church (ELCA),  14088 Clayton Road, Chesterfield MO 63017 is seeking a part time organist/accompanist for Traditional worship. ( The position includes the possibility of additional employment as director of the handbell choir.)

Trinity uses the liturgies of the Lutheran Book of Worship (LBW),  With One Voice (WOV)and the Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW).  The organist is responsible for leading one traditional Sunday service at 9:00 a.m. and for providing accompaniment for Wednesday evening (7:00-8:30 p.m.) and Sunday morning choir rehearsals.
