Flexible duties include playing for the choirs, the prelude, and other service elements according to your interests. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (ELCA), 5000 Kerth Road, St. Louis, MO 63128 is seeking a Choir Director and Pianist to provide musical leadership during worship services, piano accompaniment on a state of the art Roland electronic piano, choir direction and musical planning.
Duties include directing the choir and play piano for worship services and in one choir rehearsal per week from September – May and for special services throughout the church year such as Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. Provide piano music for weddings and funerals held at the church for an additional fee as specified in the church policy.
Preferred candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in music, church music, other related degree, or equivalent experience, experience in choral conducting and demonstrated skill and competency at the piano. Knowledge of difference styles of church music (classical, contemporary, folk, and gospel) and the role of music in worship. Able to match appropriate keyboard music with the themes of the Church Year.
