Call to Order: Dean Mark Scholtz called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.

Review of the Minutes: Minutes of the September 12th meeting were unanimously approved Motion to approve made by John and seconded by Mike.

Treasurer’s Report: October 31st balance in Bank of America checking account was $917.60. Cash Reserve-Fidelity Account: $26,485.05. A Net income loss of $1,269.07 was reported.  Total amount in Checking and Savings is $32,252.65. Motion to approve treasurer’s report was made by Bill A. and seconded by Ted C.

Dean’s Report: Mark received an email stating a settlement had been reached with National AGO and Federal Trade Commission regarding possible violation of the antitrust laws. The agreement prescribes steps that the Guild must undertake. As of November 16th, all chapters must begin the process of compliance as well so that: “all salary guidelines and model contract provisions from national and all local variations thereof that your chapter has promulgated should be removed from your chapter website, newsletter, or other publications, and you must no longer reference them or circulate them to AGO members, churches, or the public.”

Sub-Dean Report: Dawn reported for BurnellUpcoming events include:

Saturday morning – 9am, January 7th Breakfast and Presentation by Dr. John Ferguson.     Sunday afternoon – 3pm, January 8th, an Epiphany Hymn Festival. Both will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, 4501 Westminster Place, 63108 (Central West End).

The chapter decided to do a January Jubilee as major activity in 2018. Pipe Organ Encounter or Pipe Organ Plus Encounter will be considered in the future. A committee consisting of Dawn, Phillip Brunswick, Cathy Bolduan, Nannette Tornblom is working on organizing the January Jubilee.

OPUS Newsletter: Deadline for the January OPUS will be earlier than December 10th.

Social Media: Rene discussed the social media statistics regarding the results of Facebook ads such as the Ladue ad. Several thousand people saw it. The Thomas Murray event drew attendees from Iowa. There’s been an increase in the number of “Likes.” Twelve hundred saw the ad for tonight’s event. Fifty dollars per event was approved, at the last meeting, to advertise each Chapter event.

Finance Committee Report: Still in the process of transitioning the Fidelity Account back to the checking account.

Old Business: The revision of the Operating Procedures is complete and presented at tonight’s meeting.  It will be sent to membership first for approval and then to National.  Mark will ask       Thomashower about membership per procedures on page 1, Section III A. Voting members. Jeff W. made motion to accept the Operating Procedures with revisions of “the date change on the document from August 2016 to November 2016” and clarification of Voting Members’ information Mark receives. Mike K. seconded motion and it was unanimously approved. Note:  The previously tabled motion on “open positions” was addressed in the revised Operating Procedures.

Fall Fundraiser – 2017; John Hawn is working on fundraiser ideas for November of 2017. Discussion was held on precedent for use of the money:  funds to pay for programs, scholarships, the January Jubilee. John motioned that a November Fundraiser be held to raise money to support the January Jubilee. Bill A. seconded and motioned was approved. The Fundraiser committee will be a sub-committee of the Programming Committee.                                    

New Business: Stephen J. presented a proposal for the Chapter to consider a phone App. It includes: membership directory which includes phone numbers, e-addresses, photos, etc; link to local and national web sites, message board and Chat room, alerts for special events, photo gallery. Advantage is that it is easily available on your phone and a information can be sent directly to your phone instead of waiting for an email. The app is created y GROUPAHEAD. Cost depending on the size of the organization ranges $37 – $75. Rene and Brent will check on the viability of the App for our chapter. Suggestion made to show it to James Thomashower to see if National would be interested or if National has the same capabilities. The proposal was tabled for further analysis.

Music Yard Sale:  Washington University donated boxes of Music. Current thought is to have a yard sale. More info later.

May 2017 – Avis Blewett Award Ceremony and Installation of Officers; Kirkwood United Methodist Church; Guest speaker-James Thomashower, Executive Director of AGO

June 1, 2017 – State on-line Registration for Charter Number is due.

June 30, 2017 – Refile Tax Exempt forms 990-N

June 30, 2018 – Revision of Operating Procedures to align with National’s guidelines
