St. Louis Theatre Organ Society Party on the Pipes
April 29 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm CDT
Organist, William Sullivan will be performing as part of the STLTOS’ 2018 Mid-America Theatre Organ Festival Party on the Pipes. Please note the amended time. This is one of many concerts and open console events being held this weekend. Attendees from all around the region will hear nine different organists will perform on 7 area pipe organs over 5 days. While registration and tickets are required for most of the events, the concert performed at Third Baptist Church will be free to the public. Dr. William Sullivan, organist of Laclede Groves Chapel in Webster Groves will be performing on the 72-rank Kilgen/Moller pipe organ of Third Baptist on Sunday at 2:30pm. His one-hour program will include both classical favorites and pop tunes. The organ at Third Baptist is very orchestral in nature, but specifically includes a rank of Tibia pipes that were salvaged from the 1925 Kimball organ that once accompanied silent movies in the St. Louis Theatre down the street, now known as Powell Symphony Hall. This makes this church organ very amenable to theatrical works.
