Organ recital on the Wicks organ in the St. Joseph chapel at the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood convent in O’Fallon, MO. Works by Eugène Gigout, Louis Vierne, Marcel Dupré, Maurice Duruflé, and Léon Boëllmann will be featured, as well as music from the Robertsbridge Codex, the earliest surviving music written specifically for keyboard. The concert should last a little over an hour with no intermission. Attendees will have the opportunity to make a free-will offering, and I will be speaking my program notes between pieces. The chapel has excellent acoustics, especially for the music I’ll be playing. The organ has a great sound and a mighty snarl, which you’ll especially enjoy in the Gigout and Boëllmann. Hope to see you on June 5!
