Gethsemane Lutheran Church will be one of many venues hosting live music
on June 21, Make Music St. Louis Day. At 12 noon that day, there will be
an organ recital featuring Ella Rothgangel, Bob Chamberlin, and Earl
Naylor. It will be an hour-long program, including music by J.S. Bach, Flor
Peeters, Paul Manz, John Behnke, Evan Copley, and P.D.Q. Bach. The
recital is free and open to the public.
Make Music St. Louis Day will feature live music performed at a number of
venues throughout St. Louis County and on the east side of the Mississippi
River. Some of the events will be held outside. The Make Music tradition
started in the 1980’s in Paris, France and this year, hundreds of cities
worldwide will be celebrating Make Music Day on June 21. It is an annual
event and attendance is free of charge.
