The Chapel Youth Choir of Tulsa’s Boston Avenue UMC will be in concert at Trinity Presbyterian Church 6800 Washington Ave, University City, MO 63130 on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 7:00 PM. We invite you and your choir and congregation to come hear this outstanding 45 voice youth choir. This presentation, entitled “Salt and Light,” will feature a diverse collection of choral works that explore key elements of Jesus’ invitation to all people to be the “salt and light” of the world. Choral works by John Rutter, Franz J. Haydn, Z. Randall Stroope, Keith Hampton, and Rene Clausen will be included. The performance will be free and open to the public.
This presentation is part of the group’s 2017 Summer Road Trip. The Boston Avenue Church Chapel Choir is an accomplished ensemble of high school students who perform two anthems plus liturgical responses every Sunday, occasional major works, and a week-long tour each summer. They have performed in many notable venues throughout the country including St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and Church of the Holy Trinity in New York City, the National Cathedral in Washington D.C., the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, and the St. Joseph Oratory in Montreal.

The Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, founded in 1893, is one of the largest United Methodist Churches in the nation. Located in the heart of downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma, its building is widely known for its outstanding art deco architecture. It is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and is a National Historic Landmark.
