Call to Order: Dean Bill Wade called the meeting to order at 6:03 pm.
Review of the Minutes: Minutes of the March 10th meeting were approved with a motion from Andy Peters and seconded by Dawn Riske. Minutes were unanimously approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Motion to approve was made by Rene and seconded by Wes. Treasurer’s report was approved by all.
Dean’s Report: Bill reported that the National Officers will be in town and have invited the Executive Committee to eat lunch with them on Friday, April 25th. The Charles Callahan Gala is Friday evening and we have 1 free ticket. Andy won the lottery for the ticket.
We need 2 new members who are 30 or younger to qualify for the “Grow the Guild” campaign. Bill asked about developing a list of the programs we’ve had.
The chapter sent $500 payment for an ad in the Boston Convention Program Book.
National has asked if they can use our Tax Free ID# for the Charles Callahan celebration.
Bill motioned to allow National to use our Tax ID# if there is no cost attached for our chapter. All approved.
Sub-Dean Report: There is a need for additional people to perform for the member’s recital on April 28th. May 19th will be the banquet for installation of officers and presentation of the Avis Blewett Award at First Presbyterian Church in Kirkwood. Host will be Bill Stein. Next year’s program list will soon be finalized. A recommendation that we produce a flyer again promoting the programs.
Registrar’s Report: Voting on-line reported 45 of the 158 members voted on-line. Return addressed and postage included post cards will be sent to the remaining 113 members to return votes postmarked by April 21. National Guild is interested in implementing our online voting system. Brent will work on tweaking it. Brent asked if there would be a future need for the registrar position if National is handling registrations. The OnCard system is up and we were to check our personal information. The chapter’s site does not yet have listed the $75.00 for meals as one of our additional requests.
OPUS Newsletter: Deadline for the May OPUS is April 15; however due to voting deadline of April 21 postmark on ballots, there will be a delay in order to report results. We’ve had great response for ads this year.
Old Business: Andy reported on the Regional Convention: There is a need for more presenters. He explained to the committee the need to change the Tuesday morning venue. The total offerings to the convention by the Steering Committee is at $6,960. The next Convention Committee is scheduled for April 26th at 1pm and the special guest will be Marilyn Schempp, regional councilor.
Organ Book Committee – Nanette reported the committee findings thus far. Cost would be $5000 to $6000.00. Using a local printer, cost would be $9.95/book if purchased 50-60 books. Money would be secured from Grants or private donors.
Bill reported to the committee that the regional convention committee recommended that the Organ Book project not be continued at this time due to possible competition for shared financial and personnel resources. He offered a suggestion to check with Kansas City Convention Committee to possibly share the project. Bob Mullgardt made a motion “to enter into conversation with Kansas City 2018 Convention Planning Committee to do a joint project.” Wes seconded. All approved.
Calling Tree – Kathy Bolduan reported that the committee’s plan needs 4 people to make the calls for the calling tree team.
Avis Blewett Committee – Dennis will print the certificates and Stephen will be the presenter. Reminder that the awardee and spouse only receive complimentary dinner.
Social Media – Rene Zajner, Social Media Administrator: Rene requested $50.00 to advertise May 19th and future events. Dawn made a motion to approve the $50.00 to get the Facebook site launched to the next level. Stephen seconded the motion. Approved unanimously. Site is: https://www.facebook.com/agostlouis.
